The Legend of the West
San Antonio in Texas is home to 2 of the state’s top attractions: The Alamo and the Riverwalk. One of the city’s former Spanish missions, the Alamo was the site of a deadly battle that cost folk hero Davy Crockett his life. The other remaining missions - Concepcion, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada with its aqueduct - are dotted around the city. The attractive Spanish Governor’s Palace also remains.
The San Antonio River runs right through the city, below street level. Known as the Riverwalk, its banks have been cleverly developed to house riverfront restaurants, bars and shops, and are spectacularly lit for Christmas. There are several San Antonio hotels by the Riverwalk which are also close to the Rivercenter Mall, the city’s biggest shopping center, while La Villita artisan village has more traditional crafts.
Across the road in Hemisfair is the Tower of the Americas, a tall observation tower with a revolving restaurant overlooking the Alamodome, a huge sports and convention venue, home to the annual Alamo Bowl collegiate football game. Booking.com has several San Antonio hotels near the Alamodome, and more accommodations near San Antonio Airport.
On the outskirts of the city are Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The city also hosts the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the country’s biggest Western events.

My room was great we had a separate, shower and Jacuzzi we also had a separate outside area just for us this was so special to us this is the place to stay when in San Antonio. We ate at the restaurant on the property the four brothers twice breakfast and dinner we also ate off the property. We checked out very early the staff had a taxi waiting for us I can’t say enough about the hotel and staff.

A great city to visit! So much to learn about Texas History! Also, so very many choices of activities! The construction in downtown was frustrating to drive around! I would avoid the park & pay, because I’m not good with some things on my phone. (I am 75) We ate on the Riverwalk!

For the price we paid, it’s not at all worth it, fridge didn't work in 100 degree temprature.and owner didn't even inform us, NO DISHWASHER IN THE UNIT. Don’t stay at this location.

I went for an event, so we only got to stay 1 night but I've been in the past 2 times for vacations. All I can say is plan your visit, the worst thing is sitting around deciding on what to do. Also the riverwalk was a waste for us because we spent $ on parking and didn't do anything. We went around 7-8pm so a lot of people were drinking and that's not for us. So if you go there have a plan because we didn't really know what all to do before the zoo and ot being a tourist location. Things are expensive. Though I can say, from the past 2 times in my life of going I recommend taking some tours, going to the drive through safari and natural Bridge caverns, SeaWorld, and definitely visit a mall or 2. My kids and I enjoyed walking around the Historic Market Square and seeing all of the colorful items for sale. Many of the products I saw- especially clothing- were authentic, "made in Mexico" items. We also enjoyed a good "stick-to-your-ribs" meal at Good Time Charlie's. We are also glad that we took a Go Rio boat tour along the Riverwalk to learn more about the history of the area; our tour guide was very informative and entertaining. I was expecting to wait until check-in time, but they were able to accomated me early. That was appreciated. They have dining at the hotel- ruth chris steak house, or you can eat on the Riverwalk. Access to the river walk is right at the hotel, too.
